Out and about

Amazing blogger and friend Stephanie from The Loudmouth Lifestyle came to visit me again the last weekend in February. On Saturday, we lunched at Crest Cafe in Hillcrest, thrifted, and enjoyed froyo for a late afternoon dessert. We were just two kindred spirits taking in all that life had to offer us. No plans, timelines, or expectations- maybe only that we would eat and drink until our bellies were too full and that we'd have froyo. The evening was finished off by take-out dinner from my favorite hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant and wine in front of a bonfire along with some girl talk. Of course, it all has to be documented, not only for scrapbooking purposes, but also because we like to photograph and write down everything worth remembering, as Steph did here on her blog. After all, friendships that touch our lives are worth remembering, no matter how long that friendship lasted or how deeply that friendship affected us.

I must admit that work is beginning to spill into my personal life again. But when doesn't it? I'm in the Navy 24-7, and that's just the nature of what we do. And school is about to start up, so life is going to get even more hectic, and blogging and leisure time will have to take a back seat. I might feel like I'm missing out on a lot, but I believe that it's worth it in the long run.
