I have not yet grown tired of wearing my seven year old cargo jacket in the surprisingly chilly weather southern California is experiencing. In fact, this is what I have been waiting for all spring and summer: the chance to layer and wear all my scarves, tights, and coats, although this is the first outfit I've documented this year since I may have been wearing nothing but pajamas, sweats, yoga-like-wear, and jeans and tees for most of December and January. I also spent a portion of our Target gift cards on this delightful little red purse that was on sale for $9.99, and the oxfords were purchased while shopping for inexpensive Christmas gifts for my sister-in-law at Forever21. Because I did buy a few clothes and accessories, February inadvertently became my no-spending-money-on-any-clothes-and-accessories-month. I stated my 2013 resolutions here, which I expect to meet because they seem easy enough. But would you believe that I may be in a dilemma of sorts trying to eat a cupcake once a week? All of a sudden, I realized that I eat way too many sweets. I just stuff my face, and stuff my face, and stuff my face. Ask anyone who knows me: the DH, Kristen, Steph. I'm way past gluttonous, as I've been reflecting on it, and I don't want to be a greedy person in any area of my life. Soon it will catch up to me, as it is already since I haven't been running regularly. I'm trying to eat better, more wholesome, and I'm glad there are so many in this community along for the ride. It gives me a bit of help and inspiration. So there it is peeps....something old: old clothing, old habits, old sentiments...and something new: new accessories, new goals, and a new way of eating-hopefully.

Love items like your cargo jacket that you can keep and wear for years! Cute dress... I've been thinking about trying out Stitchfix but a bit hesitant as I'm a really picky shopper. Best of luck to you on your goals for 2013!

That jacket is so boss!
ReplyDeleteJessica! I've been gone a while so I'm reading back through some past entries that I completely missed on your blog! I love your "new" layout (I have no idea when you updated it, hehe!) Rest assured I've still been semi-internet-stalking you through Instagram haha!! Anyway, I love this layered look you've got going on! I think it's kinda funny (yet scary) that you are getting cold weather and it was 60 degrees in Michigan yesterday! (that's really really warm for us in January!)

Wow, that's awesome that you've had that jacket for a whopping 7 years! And it's still in fantastic shape, if I may say. Props to you on that!
ReplyDeleteI love how you've put this look together! Those shoes and dress pair really well together. Sometimes I wish I had as much creativity when it came to my ensemble.
