I "met" Steph some time in 2010. I had a Live Journal account because I wanted an easy way to document my life from anywhere in the world, even though I ended up neglecting it shortly after I left on a deployment. She had around 10,000 friends, I want to say, and her blog was advertised on LJ's home page. Intrigued, because I didn't even discover the world of blogging just yet, I clicked on her link and started reading. I confess that I don't remember the first post I ever read of hers, but the most memorable posts for me was the one in which she describes her grandmother and Polish roots and the one where she spoke about her personal style and had an adorable photo of her outfit. I was hooked! Her life in L.A. was so interesting to read about, even though I had grown up around all the areas she wrote about and featured on her blog for at least 18 years of my own life. It was something I looked forward to reading when I needed an escape and wanted to indulge in some leisure time, especially after a crappy day on the ship, which was 360 days out of the year. I felt inspired to write my own story, to share a piece of it with the world so it wouldn't be forgotten and so that others might learn from it. Never did I think that I would meet her in real life some day. Although after a few months of being on LJ, I went to read her blog like I normally did, and it was no longer there. She had moved apparently, and I remember feeling disappointed because "that was such a great blog" and I just wanted to keep reading. A few months later, after neglecting my own journal, I ventured back to Steph's old site and discovered that there was a link to her new site which was on Blogger. This, of course, led to me creating an account and giving online journaling another try. Thanks to Steph's blog and Blogger, I feel compelled to write again after so many years of remaining quiet.
A few more interesting facts about Steph:
1. What 5 words describe you in a nutshell? Fun, quirky, LOUD, creative, workaholic!
2. Where were you born and raised? I was born and raised in a small
Michigan town that had 4,000 people & one major streetlight. Ever
since I can remember, I've wanted to move to a big city with warmer
weather. I moved to LA a little over three years ago, & I couldn't
be happier - though Michigan will always have a special place in my
heart!
3. What inspired you to start blogging? I've always been a writer, & I had a personal blog for about ten years before going public with The Loudmouth Lifestyle. It started out strictly as a fashion blog simply called The Loudmouth, but it's since changed - a lot!
4. Who or what inspires your personal style? Other bloggers & stylish peeps on the streets, & my mood at the moment. I like to mix things up!
5. What are your favorite foods? Oh gosh. This is a hard one. Uh, pizza... hummus... salmon... is tequila a food?
6. What top 3 things are on your bucket list? See Detroit rappers perform in Detroit, stay with my relatives in Poland for a month, become CEO of the company I work for ;)
7. Words of wisdom(?) Be your best self every day, have patience, and good things will come to you.
